Janet Thibeau Elected President of MA Branch of IDA

Janet Thibeau named President of the The Massachusetts Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (MABIDA)

The Massachusetts Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (MABIDA) is pleased to announce that Janet Thibeau has been elected President of the Branch, effective January 1, 2016.
Ms. Thibeau has served on the MABIDA board since 2014 and been a member of the IDA’s Destiny Initiative since 2015. “I am honored and excited to help lead the Massachusetts branch. We are working to improve the lives of people with dyslexia within the state and beyond. With teacher workshops and programs like TeamQuest, it’s an exciting time to be part of MABIDA. ”, says Ms. Thibeau.
Ms. Thibeau is the founder of BTA Education, an advocacy and college consulting company based in West Newbury, MA. She is also the mother of 5 children, including 4 who have dyslexia.
About MABIDA
MABIDA is part of an international organization focused on the complex issues of dyslexia. The IDA membership consists of education and research professionals in partnership with children and adults with dyslexia and their families. MABIDA actively promotes effective teaching approaches and related clinical educational intervention strategies for people with dyslexia.
About Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurobiological in origin. It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. Secondary consequences may include problems in reading comprehension and reduced reading experience that can impede growth of vocabulary and background knowledge.
